*A shadow from above falls over the tour group as a large pterosaur lands on the sand*Check out this beautiful Quetzalcoatlus northropi, one of the largest flying animals ever discovered. Adults have a wingspan of between ten and eleven metres, more than twice as large as that of the Wandering albatross.

Yes, it's beautiful, but dangerous. Did they hunt in packs?

Yes, it's beautiful, but dangerous. Did they hunt in packs? This particular species is a solitary hunter, feeding on carrion and small vertebrates, which includes hatchling dinos.

*Tour group leaves the beach, wanders further into the shade of the forest, coming across an odd-looking creature resting on a riverbank* Koolasuchus, or as I like to call them, "Giant tadpoles with legs". They generally live in fast-moving rivers, occasionally moving to other bodies of freshwater depending on where the most food is available.

*A pair of large fish thrash around near the riverbank. The Koolasuchus returns to the water in search of a meal*
Let's move on and see what else we can find. Oh, and please feel free to ask questions if you have any.

*A large feathered dino stops near the tour group, using its long claws to pull vegetation off the trees*One of my favourite dinos, Therizinosaurus. The hand claws each measure more than half a metre long, the longest claws of any known land animal. When it was first discovered in Mongolia in 1948, palaeontologists thought it was a giant turtle. It wasn't until 1970 that Russian palaeontologist, Anatoly K. Rozhdestvensky, suggested that the fossils actually belonged to a dinosaur. What's strange is that, despite being classed as a Theropod, as you can see, it's adopted a vegetarian lifestyle rather than being a predator, like its carnivorous relatives.

Therizinosaurids are the only group of Theropods to change to being vegetarians. I guess tht they are the odd ones out, then. Thanks for digging up such interesting trivia, BTW!
