This the first edition of a place to go to easily find movies opening during the week.
I will choose just a few each week. A new thread will start next Friday.
I love movies...all genres. That is why I decided to start these threads.
Please. please add you comments regarding the movies listed in the this thread and the following threads.
1. Geostorm
"After an unprecedented series of natural disasters threatened the planet, the world’s leaders came together to create an intricate network of satellites to control the global climate and keep everyone safe. But now, something has gone wrong—the system built to protect the Earth is attacking it, and it’s a race against the clock to uncover the real threat before a worldwide geostorm wipes out everything...and everyone along with it.".

2. Suburbicon Suburbicon is a peaceful, idyllic suburban community with affordable homes and manicured lawns …the perfect place to raise a family, and in the summer of 1959, the Lodge family is doing just that. But the tranquil surface masks a disturbing reality, as husband and father Gardner Lodge (Matt Damon) must navigate the town’s dark underbelly of betrayal, deceit, and violence. This is a tale of very flawed people making very bad choices. This is Suburbicon. www.movieinsider.com/m12585/geostorm/videos/13318

3. The Foreigner
"The story of humble London businessman Quan (Chan), whose long-buried past erupts in a revenge-fueled vendetta when the only person left for him to love - his teenage daughter - is taken from him in a senseless act of politically-motivated terrorism. In his relentless search for the identity of the terrorists, Quan is forced into a cat- and-mouse conflict with a British government official (Brosnan), whose own past may hold clues to the identities of the elusive killers.".

Geostorm review: Rotten Tomatoes:
Critics Consensus: Lacking impressive visuals, well-written characters, or involving drama, Geostorm aims for epic disaster-movie spectacle but ends up simply being a disaster of a movie.

Suburbicon Review by Rotten Tomatoes
Critics Consensus: A disappointing misfire for director George Clooney, Suburbicon attempts to juggle social satire, racial commentary, and murder mystery -- and ends up making a mess of all three.
Average rating: 385

The Foreigner Review:
58% Average Rating
Critics Consensus: The Foreigner adheres strictly to action thriller formula, but benefits from committed -- and out of character -- performances from its talented veteran stars.

I am glad you all found this thread.
Thanks for adding to it.
I did not choose films I recommend or do not recommend.
I just wanted to provide a place for posters to easily find what is opening, a brief synopsis and a trailer if available.
In the future I may add the cast since I know who is in a movie can be very important to many people.
I also hope if anyone actually goes to these movies they will put in their own personal reviews on the thread.

I know movie prices have gone way up.
Plus we now have all sorts of entertainment we can view in the comfort of our homes.
I disagree about the actors out there.
IMO there are many fine actors in the movies today.
Plus for young singles, going to movie on a date is still a popular thing to do.
I also find that the families I know with young children go to the movies on a regular basis.

Last movie I went to was at least 25 years ago.. Star Wars The Empire Strikes back. As for today's actors.....I'm hard pressed to think of one I like.
