Scotty was always my favorite and I did know about his missing finger thought I didn't find out until years after I'd originally watched the show and I never noticed it while watching. JJ ...the scene with Kirk and Spock touching through the glass was actually from one of the movies, the end of "Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan" when the ship was damaged and Spock entered the nuclear reactor room to fix it, thus sacrificing himself to save everyone else. "The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the one." As the two of them touched hands they said, "You are now and will always be my friend." I loved that scene! That was one of my favorite scenes in the movies.. My favorite movie though is 'The Voyage Home' with the whales.

Some people think that "The Wrath of Khan" was the best of the Star Trek films.
It was 30 years old in 2013.
Lots if interesting facts about it.
For example:
Some of Khan's (Ricardo Montalbán) men were played by Chippendale's exotic dancers.

So my Star Trek friends, you thoughts on the movies..
The Original Series films 2.1 Star Trek: The Motion Picture (1979) - Found it to be boring 2.2 Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan (1982) - Loved it but then again I loved the episode as well. They did an excellent job on this movie. 2.3 Star Trek III: The Search for Spock (1984) - Loved this one too.. It was a bit far fetched though 2.4 Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home (1986) - My absolute favorite, there were some great lines in this movie. 2.5 Star Trek V: The Final Frontier (1989) - No, not a fan 2.6 Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country (1991) - Nope..
Favorite by rank..

I have seen them all several times.
They each have their pros and cons.
And each time I see one again I pick up something new.
I also pick up new things by going to the net, and reading about the background of each film.

JJ, good to see you! I love talking about old shows.. As for Star Wars, I loved the original 3 and the newest one that came out about a year ago. But the other three I did not like at all.

Thanks, Joey. I know exactly what you mean, @justbec, Some Star Wars were fantastic, some were poorly done. The last one I saw was the one with the princess and Solo, a bit of a shocker. I guess he didn't want to make any more Star Wars movies.

The middle three just didn't hold my interest. Probably because they didn't have Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford, Chewy and Carrie Fischer.

@justbec, Carrie was supposed to be in the next one, and have a big role. *sigh*

I once went out with a dude who was a trekkie - we broke up. I really don't like Star Trek.
Lost in Space is more my speed. Dr. Smith and Robot are the best.
