Norway: Country Deports 13 Migrants to Russia Under New Rules, Police Say
Norway's immigration police said that the migrants were deported by bus on Tuesday. New rules allow the transport of about 5,500 migrants back to Russia after they entered via the Arctic border.
Sounds a good idea to me..

They already have a permit to stay in Russia, but prefer Norway, which can't absorb more such refugees now and therefore send them back across the border after a new agreement between the two countries has been signed. The Norwegian authorities need to prioritise evaluating the applications from those with no permit in other countries first. *Under Norwegian law it's illegal to drive people into the country if they do not have the proper papers *Migrants are using children's bikes to cross the Russia-Norway border *Forced to use the loophole after Russia outlawed crossings on foot

Thanks for that info. Always loop holes. So many countries can't absorb them but they accept them.

Most of these refugees in Russia have been there for quite a while and got all their documents in order. Then somebody told them that the grass is greener on the other side of the border and they want to try their luck in Norway. Unfortunatly, they chose the wrong time to arrive, as we are now overloaded with migrants from Syria and need to take care of those first, so that everybody with approval from another country will be deported in the foreseeable future.

They won't like it in Russia much. Can't help feeling sorry for them. Just goes to show the grass is not always greener on the other side....

Often, human traffickers brighten up the colour by smooth-talking the poor people into paying for their services to reach the promised land.
By the last count, there are now more than 5000 of them waiting to be shipped back to Russia.
As I write these lines, I listen to a debate programme on TV, where politicians from various parties argue how they should best address this very problem.

Latest development: Russia has closed the borther for the return of more migrants! The news station NRK reports that Russia has turned down the return of further refugees over Storskog Border Crossing! The reason is that Russian authorities want a better coordination, according to Norwegian foreign minister Børge Brende.

They will be kept in asylum receptions, former military camps and ultimately hotels if no other solution can be found. A handful have occupied a church, while the authorities have signaled that they will take them by force as soon as the formalities with the Russians have been settled.

Latest: Since Russia refuses to take them back, the Norwegian government has decided to let them try their cases in the system. But 1400 people have escaped from Norwegian refugee centres and cannot be accounted for!

It depends on whether they have been granted visa to another country already, if they have stated correct identiy, they have been active in atrocities or if it's safe for them to return to their native countries. Some cases normally take years, then they have the right to appeal and it may drag on even longer. It's a tricky situation that puts a strain on everybody.
Digression: In Denmark, the government has decided that if they come with wealthy possessions, like jewels or a fat bank account, they need to pay for the expenses themselves as far as possible. A very contriversial act, which is also under debate in Norway.

I read that about Denmark. Don't know your thoughts but I feel they should at least contribute something.
