One question, if I may please interrupt our guide: When a t-rex is full, how long does it take until it's hungry and starts hunting again?

To be honest, I'm not entirely sure. Possibly every two or three days, but that would depend on the size of their chosen prey. Tyrannosaurs usually target ceratopsians, hadrosaurs, ornithomimids and juvenile sauropods but, like most carnivores, they're both scavengers and active hunters. If there's an opportunity to get a meal, they'll be more than happy to take it. Being a hunter is a dangerous lifestyle since there's always a chance you'll be killed by your prey.

*leads tour group down another path to the banks of a river* We've got another hungry hunter down here: Spinosaurus aegyptiacus, currently the largest-known Theropod. It's mostly a fish-eater, but will also hunt small and medium-sized land animals.

Better them than us.

For over a century, palaeontologists thought T-Rex was the largest Theropod but, despite them both standing around six metres tall, Spinosaurus grew to be at least three metres longer.

Did the two of them inhabit the same area and interacted?

No. Spinosaurus lived in what's now North Africa during the Cenomanian and Turonian stages of the Late Cretaceous, between 99 and 93.5 million years ago. T-Rex didn't appear until about two million years before the Dino Age ended, between 68 and 66 million years ago, and lived in what's now the western United States.

*points out a trio of tiny dinos nibbling on ferns and chasing insects* Here we have an adult and two juvenile Heterodontosaurus, one of the smallest herbivorous dinosaurs. Its name means "Different-toothed lizard", because it has three different kinds of teeth: sharp cutting teeth at the front, tusks just behind and broad grinding teeth at the back.

three different kinds of teeth: sharp cutting teeth at the front, tusks just behind and broad grinding teeth at the back. In other words - well adapted to its diet.

I've found that, when most people think of or talk about dinosaurs, they only mention the big famous ones and the little ones get left out. *hears chirping and sees a group of tiny dinos chasing dragonflies along the riverbank* Compies! My favourite tiny dinos! Their full name is Compsognathus, meaning "Elegant jaw", but I prefer to call them compies. Sometimes it's easier to shorten the names. They lived in what's now Europe during the Tithonian stage of the Late Jurassic, around 150 million years ago, and don't stand much taller than 30cm.

True, but this tour and your other remarkable posts have opened the eyes of yours truly and hopefully other users of this forum. Thanks for taking the time to enlighten us ignorants!
