Users keep their PCs around for much longer than you think. Only 10% of PCs and laptops worldwide were purchased in 2018 or later. Surprisingly, nearly 28% of PCs are more than eight years old, meaning the majority being made between 2013 and 2017. The median age of all measured PCs from 155 million users comes in at slightly more than 5 years.  |

My previous laptop finally died at 7 years old, and only then because the screen started to go. Otherwise I'd still be using it!

My PC is at least 8 years old, but it crashed two years ago, so I had it completely updated and it became almost as new again, with a stronger harddisk.
