Since all churches and other religious places of worship are closed until further notice, the Church of Norway in Molde has started to think outside the box. In a press release, they state: "Easter Day is celebrated this year with a drive-in worship in the parking lot at Aker Stadium. As we sit in our cars, we listen to the service on Radio1FM FM 104.8 or DAB 1FM. It would have been nice if we could fill the parking lot that day and feel the fellowship in the celebration of Jesus' resurrection." Photo found on the newspaper Romsdals Budstikke  |

LadyPorthos, It's down in FL. Guess only praying is aloud in the church. Which is ridiculous. What they did in Norway is a great idea and I've head about churches doing something like this before. At least one preacher in FL was arrested.

Molde is the only place I've heard about a drive-in service here. Other places, the deans haven't been so inventive and the parishioners miss out on something really memorable. |

Most of the parishes around here, including mine, are livestreaming masses so that's something, just not the same as physically being there.

Just watched prime minister Solberg on the TV news. She said that if the virus situation continues to improve, church services and other arrangements may start up again on 25 June.

Partial sidetrack:
I just watched something interesting on the NRK News - Israeli authorities closed down an entire town with ultraconservative Jews ouside Tel Aviv because they neglected to pay attention to the corona restrictions and continued to live their lives like before. Instead of using the available means to protect themselves, they pray to God that they wouldn't be infected. Soldiers are now patroling the area to enforce a strict curfew. The reporter then said that the same thing happens in some other countries with groups of conservatve Muslims and Christians. At the early stages of the virus situation, religious leaders were responsible for infecting thousands of their followers after returning from abroad, e.g. a pastor in South Korea and a mullah in Iran.

There are still people resisting it. Mostly it seem are churches. I just don't get how they can be so selfish.
There are a lot of places being creative like restaurants where they offer only pick up now. At least one pizza place delivers and puts it on your door and you come out and get it so there is no contact.
