Not the banks, or the stock market. Use the money to do up a spare room and other conveniences in the house and open an Airbnb depending if you live in a popular city. You'll make in excess of $5000 per annum or rent the room to a permanent boarder and make in excess of $10,000 per annum. With the first you have to change sheets and clean after each visit but still have some privacy from 2 nights a week rental or have a permanent boarder and only vacuum once a week to check the room isn't being trashed but give up your privacy depending on whether you share the bathroom or not. Use that money for a bed, sheets, pillows, blankets, extra microwave for their own cooking if there is a dedicated space maybe to gain a bit more privacy back etc. Give me a yell if you want more info.
