I just read an intersting article about forum members sending postcards to institutions for children (orphanages, hospitals, special schools etc...) from wherever they are located. Ecah month a member selects a new institutions and the others follow up with a greeting to cheer up the little ones in need of care and love. So my question is this: Do you know such an institution? If so, please post its name and address here. Thanks in advance!

No, never heard about this, but it seems like a great idea.

I've heard of this on the news in the past but have never been involved in one. Also when a kid is in the hospital the school will get together and make card and send them to them. Sounds a like like that except people you don't know.

It could be a good idea to get new friends if you manage to keep in touch with them after that first post card.

I send letters to the troops, I think they have options to send to the families as well and to the kids of those that have lost a parent.

We donate to St. Jude but never have had a family member go there. Seems like a great idea to write or send a card to them. I think at least one family member is there with them at all times because of their age.
I've seen where there have been kids sick and they get 100 thousand cards. Seems like waste when there are a lot of other sick people that don't get any.
When my dad was in the hospital a Veterans guy came in to see him with a few gifts. But it was nice that he stopped in to see dad.
