Is a pretty new ideology, which main purpose and goal is to prevent povery, and war, and create a whole new PERMANENT(at least that's how i understood it) system. It's got a plan for everything you can imagine, INCLUDING cities UNDER THE SEA. What do you think? Is this a society you would like to live in? Discuss down below! But first, check out www.thevenusproject.com/ . horse-riding-smiley

so what makes this any different or better than any previous Utopian societies? Nobody began thinking "let's start a world where greed and corruption drive us to extinction" after all...

The main problem here is that the world is divided. It is extremely difficult to agree on something constructive, ref the many climate conferences, whereof the latest was concluded in Lima today with a compromise to satisfy most countries involved, which implied that one didn't commit oneself to as many climate cuts as many participants had hoped for.
If the world had been adminstered as a corporate organisation, it could have been possible. But countries such as the US, Russia, China, India, Brazil and South Africa, which could have made a difference if they had come to an agreement, often have their own agendas that throw tools into the machinery and cause the proposed suggestions to come to a grinding halt.

Yes and that's why it's normally so difficult to obtain global agreements.

A shortcoming that has cost us dearly, since tens of thousands of years don't seem to have showed us how to use it to our common advantage. More specifically, greed, selfishness and protectionism have contributed to the unfortunate situation that we and the world find ourselves surrounded by today.

Look at Syria, where political power and strategic alliances mean more to some leaders than the fact that millions of people are suffering from a seemingly complete lack of human compassion!

As the world is now I can never see this happening but when I first saw it my thoughts where what a great retirement community these would make. Being retired this is something I would like. There are a lot of retirement communities that are all single family homes. So to build and create all the single family homes, it seems would take a lot more energy than these buildings, plus these would take up less space. But eliminate NYC and have them all live here isn't going to happen.

Why don't we start with retiring leaders that use violence to control their own population? Mugabe in Zimbabwe is past 80 and ready for the junk yard!

I just think the people from the Venus Project should change their sights. This could easily work....just to start, in a retirement community. Then branch out from there. To end the worlds problems...I wish them the best as they are wasting their time.
Take the area Hertix lives in. It would work perfect in a working community also.
