Microsoft's Edge browser is less popular with Windows 10 users than earlier thought, if revised data from a U.S. analytics vendor can be believed. According to Net Applications of Aliso Viejo, Calif., Edge has been designated the primary browser by fewer than one in six Windows 10 users for more than a year and a half. That's a significant downgrading of Edge's user share statistics from the browser's portrayal before this month. During the 19-month span between May 2016 and November 2017 - data for that stretch was what Net Applications offered publicly - Edge was run by between 15.6% (in April 2017) and 12.2% (September 2017) of all Windows 10 users. It never reached 16.7% - or one in six - and trended downward overall, starting the period at 14.8% (May 2016) and ending it at 13.2% (November 2017), an 11% decline. From Computerworld. I tried IE many years ago. I remember it had good favorite functions, but after a friend recommended Chrome and I installed it, I have never looked back.

A few lines to support poor Edge.
What few people are aware of is that Edge isn't yet fully developed. Its extensions library is continuously growing, but sadly, its sync functionality is still restricted.
Still, Edge has some helpful features. It's integrated with Windows 10’s inking capabilities, as well as with OneNote, making it easy to clip a webpage and save it to a notebook.
Perhaps the best feature, however, is the “Continue on PC” option that lets you push webpages to your PC from your phone.

wizard, did you know that in Edge, your cool username isn't blinking? So it has some shortcomings regardless of the advantages you listed.

Mac's avatar doesn't show in Edge either. So only here on this forum, it demonstrates its insufficiency.

I hardly use Edge, only for research and comparisons.

Edge and IE have to be the worst browser ever invented. Never deleted them, but use them only as backups and "second opinion" options.

It must be frustrating for Microdoft that Edge never became the success they hoped for.

Google Chrome will soon celebrate its tenth birthday. It appears as if it has won the hearts and mind - and most importantly - the desktops of the majority of both PC and Mac users. Microsoft has ibvested a lot in Edge. In less than three years, it has improved dramatically, adding support for extensions and winning speed tests against entrenched competitors. But Microsoft's favourite has struggled to achieve market share, mindshare and positive reviews. Edge declined by nearly 1 percent from 20 percent in the second quarter of 2017 to 19 percent in the first three months of 2018. Chrome usage remained steady, at just a fraction over 56 percent. Firefox usage fell from 11 percent to 9 percent. The big winner was, shockingly, Internet Explorer, which grew its share from 12 percent to 15 percent. Info found on www.zdnet.com

Edge's main disadvantages:
1. Problems to handle websites that 'run on older technology'.
2. Cannot deal with all extensions.
3. Doesn't offer a proper full screen mode.
4. Doesn't support RSS feeds.
5. Developer Tools load slowly.
If those issues are important to you, choose another browser.
