Here in the States there is a LOT of press about the President going to war with the NFL over their protests when the National Anthem is played. They claim it is their Freedom of Speech to protest injustices to blacks. However for a whole lot of Americans it is nothing but an insult to the Flag, the Country and those who died to give them that Freedom. Now this is NOT a Political post.. Simply a refresher course for those that don't understand why you don't take a Knee in this country when the Anthem is played.
Just what do the words mean?

LOVE that, which is why I shared it on my FB page even though I never get into political discussions. As you said, @justbec, this isn't about politics or protest, it's about showing the proper respect. I admit I hadn't ever really considered what the words of the Anthem mean so it was an eye opener for me. I think all of those NFL players who have been exercising their "right to free speech" should be required to watch that, then thy might really understand what that flag represents.

It's political if you are talking about first amendment rights.
Myself I stand and face the flag. That is also my right. What others do I really don't care. And from what I saw Sunday they don't really care what trump thinks. Doesn't he have enough to without taking on the NFL?

Maybe he is using it as a smoke screen to divert attention from other issues that he is criticized for?

And from what I saw Sunday they don't really care what trump thinks. Doesn't he have enough to without taking on the NFL? It's NOT about Trump. I find it laughable that THEY can whine and protest and it is their 1st amendment right to Free Speech and Protest. Yet when President Trump uses HIS 1st amendment right to Free Speech and says what he feels... Oh the horrors! How dare he! It's more than enough for me to stop watching the NFL and supporting it in any way. If they want to protest that is fine, do it on their OWN time. They are paid a ridiculous amount of money to play a game.
