 Hope more countries join in and shut the trade down or at the least slow it down. I doubt the US will do it...maybe in 4 years we will have a shot at getting something like this passed. I say congratulations to Australia for getting the ball rolling.

Without a passport, this couldn't be possible, but there are human rights issues involved here, so it's a tricky matter. Some will say that when you have betrayed the trust of minors, you have lost the privilege to have a passport, while others see it differently.

Well we could just keep them in prison where they belong. But that won't happen either. If they have to be monitored there is really no reason to give them a passport.

It's worrying me quite a bit how punishment doesn't seem to have the desired effect on this type of criminals, with frequent cases of backsliding after the prison term is served. Don't they learn anything from from their mistakes or don't they care about being caught repeatedly and spending a significant portion of their life behind bars? Don't they have any mechanism that discerns between right and wrong? beats me...  |
