Much like some train travelers. I enjoyed a short ride in Arizona. We were stating in Sedona, AZ and I think the Train was in Cottonwood. Some cars are open some are covered and we chose the covered. Plush seats, great snacks and drinks and it didn't cost much more and it made it more relaxing. I nearly fell asleep on the way back so I walked out to one of the open cars and took a couple pictures.

If you ever get back there the scenery in Sedona, AZ is really cool and it's a nice relaxing afternoon on the train.

And just up the winding hill road you end up in Flagstaff, AZ where the temperature really cools down. We went to the Observatory that found the one time planet Pluto.

This brings back memories...
I spent a night in a motel at Flagstaff back in 1982.

Yep that Ferry was great. You drove on and there were people inside telling you what lane to park in. There were even Semi's on there and you had to leave the car and go up on deck. Not sure why you would want to stay down there anyway. You could go outside but over the water it seemed a little cool and windy. We stayed inside most of the time. Years later we took a boat from Evian, France to Lausanne, Switzerland. It was a fairly short trip and we ate dinner there and walked around town a little.
