Russia Says It Was In Touch With Trump Campaign During The Election The Russian government was in touch with members of President-elect Donald Trump’s political team during the U.S. election campaign and knows most of his entourage, one of Russia’s most senior diplomats told the Interfax news agency on Thursday. www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/donald-trump-russia-in-touch-election_us_582475f5e4b0d9ce6fc0e5f4My question is why? But as more and more of trumps staff is starting to admit, yes they were in contact with Russia. Seems they should be working with the United States not Russia. Especially his staff, trump maybe talks to them but all his staff too.

I don't get all the Russian paranoia personally.. I mean does anyone seriously believe Trump is going to hand over the keys to the Russians? And I didn't see any Russians here in Minnesota stuffing ballot boxes during the election. Were they responsible for Wiki leaks? Maybe but so far all that have been released were true or non factors so again, what is the big deal? Personally and this is just me, I'd rather have Russia as a friend than an enemy. And while I know most here hate Donald Trump, he is not an idiot nor is he easily fooled. You may not like him or his ideals but if I were playing poker I'd want him on my side. Again, just my thoughts so fire away.

Just a funny side not to all the hysteria...
From a news release. Sessions meeting with the Russian Ambassador
It was set up by the Obama administration. Hans von Spakovsky, as he mentioned in a piece “Get real, Democrats, there is no good reason for Sessions to resign” published at Fox News, reveals the information. As reported by The Daily Caller:
The Obama administration helped set up the first meeting Jeff Sessions had with the Russian ambassador in 2016.
Heritage Foundation scholar Hans von Spakovsky wrote at FoxNews.com that the event at the Republican National Convention in Cleveland that his employer hosted was attended by Russian ambassador Sergey Kislyak.
Spakovsky writes that the event was a conference titled “Global Partners in Diplomacy,” where Sessions was the keynote speaker. It was sponsored by the State Department, the Heritage Foundation and other organizations.
“The conference was an educational program for ambassadors invited by the Obama State Department to observe the convention. The Obama State Department handled all of the coordination with ambassadors and their staff, of which there were about 100 at the conference,” Spakovsky wrote.
“Apparently, after Sessions finished speaking,“ Spakovsky adds, ”a small group of ambassadors—including the Russian ambassador—approached the senator as he left the stage and thanked him for his remarks. That’s the first ‘meeting.’ And it’s hardly an occasion—much less a venue—in when a conspiracy to ‘interfere’ with the November election could be hatched.”
Getty Images/Alex Wong“There is no reason for Attorney General Sessions to resign,” Spakovsky added.
Earlier Friday it was reported that the White House met with Russian Ambassador Kislyak on 22 separate occasions. Senator Joe Manchin (D-WV) provided some necessary context for Sessions' meetings.
“Yes, that happens,” Manchin said in response to a question by CNN's Alisyn Camerota. “We meet with all the ambassadors or try to anyway to build relationships. It’s not unusual."
On another occasion, Manchin also spoke up to address concerns that Sessions' conversations were unusual or inappropriate.
“I met with the Russian ambassador with other senators with the Armed Services Committee,” he said, providing details to Breitbart. “As I recall, a lot of that was about NSAS and space and improving the working environment, because we are using Russian rock bets, so there are a lot of conversations with a lot of ambassadors–we all do.”
The main questions outstanding are the content of the conversation between Sessions and Kislyak within his office — in the presence of two U.S. senior staff members — and whether or not his response to Sen. Franken at his confirmation hearing constitutes perjury.
In regards to the second issue, an expert cited at Politico, Richard Painter, a top ethics lawyer from the Bush administration, doubts that any improper statement made by Sessions rises to the level of perjury.
“It is, at best, very misleading testimony,” he said. “I don't go so far as to say that it's perjury, but there is a lesser charge of failing to provide accurate information to Congress.”

Having an acting president ask you to give a speech is like a public citizen talking with Russia. Why was all his staff talking to him? He wasn't even president yet. We work with Russia but they aren't our best friends. Time will tell what they were up to. On your computer social networking did you get any span on how bad Clinton is. Thank your Russian friends.
Russia Long before Donald Trump met Twitter, Russia was famous for its troll factories – outside Russia, anyway. Allegations of covert propagandists invading chatrooms go back as far as 2003, and in 2012 the Kremlin-backed youth movement Nashi was revealed to be paying people to comment on blogs. However most of what we know now comes from a series of leaks in 2013 and 2014, most concerning a St Petersburg company called Internet Research Agency, then just “Internet Research”. It is believed to be one of several firms where trolls are trained and paid to smear Putin’s opponents both at home and internationally.
So smear Clinton and get the guy you want. SO these are friends? I thing not.

I don't really think they are friends.. What is the saying? Keep your friends close and your enemies closer? Like I said, I don't get all the Paranoia.. It's starting to remind me of the movie 'The Russians are Coming! The Russians are Coming!' BTW, that is a GREAT classic movie, if you haven't seen it, you need too.

Haven't seen the movie and really didn't know what it's about.
I just don't like being that chummy with Russia even if Sarah Palin and look out her window and see them.

Love that movie...it's hysterical!
As for the Trump/Russia stuff it's just another non-issue for the Dems to latch onto. As Bec said, I don't take Trump for a fool and I don't for a second think he was selling out to the Russians. While I certainly don't dismiss the Russians, actually in today's climate I think we have far bigger threats to worry about, including the Middle East and North Korea. And knowing how little that Putin respects Hilary Clinton, having her at the helm here would've been a far bigger problem, imo.

He's no fool?
Trump Airlines - Trump bought a successful (well over 20 year of service) airline shuttle turned it into Trump Airlines and then Trump Shuttle people weren't impressed and he couldn't cover the 1 million monthly interest charges. Trump ultimately defaulted, surrendering ownership of the airline to his creditors. He was in business for three year. Once bought it is now successful again.
No he's no fool.
Mexico will pay for the wall he said. The great negotiator didn't come through again. Seems Mexico is no fool.

Even the best businessman makes the occasional mistake...not all ideas pan out. Doesn't make him a fool.
As for the wall...remains to be seen what will come of that.

Trump University - Paid out $25,000.000 so he wouldn't have to go to court. Still not a fool?
Donald J. Trump has reversed course and agreed on Friday to pay $25 million to settle a series of lawsuits stemming from his defunct for-profit education venture, Trump University, finally putting to rest fraud allegations by former students, which have dogged him for years and hampered his presidential campaign.
Good thing he is rich because you can buy your way out of all kinds of fraudulent lawsuits.
