Long Lost Family is an American documentary-style television series based on the British series of the same name, airing on TLC since March 2016. Presented by Chris Jacobs and Lisa Joyner, the show helps provide aid to individuals looking to be reunited with long-lost biological family members.[1] The show is produced by Shed Media for TLC, and is co-sponsored by Ancestry.com, which helps provide family history research and DNA testing to help make discoveries possible.[2][1]
Season 1 of Long Lost Family aired between March and April 2016, and in June 2016 it was announced by TLC that the show had been renewed for a second season.[3][4]
This show has a lot of meaning for me because I was adopted as a infant over 51 years ago and I have been searching for my birth parents. I have gotten hold of this show and they might use me on a future episode.

they might use me on a future episode. That's awesome, @amulet! I've been researching my ancestry since 1990. In case you come across some forefathers and -mothers that you want to focus on, please contact me and I'll see if I can help you discover something interesting.

I have seen the show, it is interesting and seeing as I am adopted it really hits home.
I was lucky enough to find my birthmother several years ago, she is a wonderful person and I have a half brother and half sister that are also very sweet. It doesn't always end well, you never know what you might find.

That is one thing that worries me. Basically the only thing I want to know is my medical history. When I was adopted my records were sealed and I have no history. I have tried in the past to get them un sealed but it is a very difficult and expensive thing to do where there is no guarantee I would get any answers. It would be nice to find out if I have any siblings. I have always been curious who my birth mom is. All I know is my parents were students at a college in Kansas.

I wanted to know my medical history as well. I was also secretly hoping for some sort of connection. Someone that looks like me, I don't look at all like my adoptive family. I am fair with blonde hair and blue eyes, they are all rather dark. It seems weird but I wanted to look like someone. Turns out I am the spitting image of my birth mom. I do know who my father is, his name is on my original birth certificate. I tried through an agency to locate him and I did, turns out he has no desire to meet me. My birth parents were 17 years old when I was born.
