Interesting problem...

I worked with this "lean" thing while I was employed by Bring. Our conclusion revealed that most of the inefficiency at a workplace is due to people taking breaks and talking to colleagues. We didn't however, break it down to work-related or private conversations.

Thanks, but again, a typical incident of pure luck! I had no idea that what occurred at a particular work place in Drammen had universal relevance and could be applied generally in the statistics.

I remember that we followed the workers for hours while taking notes of everything they did, like picking articles, registering stock balance, driving fork lifts, moving pallet jacks, filling up locations, talking, going to the rest room, eating something etc...
