In late 1912, the American movement for women’s suffrage was facing a frustrating lack of progress at the national level. At the annual convention of the National American Woman Suffrage Association (NAWSA), Alice Paul (who had survived imprisonment and force-feeding while fighting for British women’s suffrage) and Lucy Burns proposed an audacious publicity action: a massive march on Washington to coincide with Woodrow Wilson’s presidential inauguration. Their proposal was approved, and they set about organizing and fundraising for the march, which was set for March 3, 1913. Much, much more here with picturesI like the way they did it better. Not one had to dress up like a vagina to get her point across.

There have been some admirable people in the frontlines fighting for the rights of various minorities throughout time; gender, ethnic groups, slaves etc. I'm not saying that they all have still achieved equal rights on all accounts, but those worst off right now seem to have orientations other then strictly hetero.

Well said.
