Having a small dog she is pretty easy to take care of.
Bathes are done in the Laundry room and she is getting use to them now.
I usually clip toenails hers as well as the parrots.
She started shedding so I got out what we used on our last dog. It's rubber and has cones on the bottom and really picked off a lot of hair, it's made by Kong that also makes toys. Later I used the same type brush but with a vacuum attached. After one time she did well with it. Because Emory has long hair and it gets matted I bought a Mart Steward two sided comb. One side is just for combing and the other side is finer and would drag ticks out. The comb really is a big help to make her look well groomed.
Anyone else have any ideas or something they use that works well?

When we first got Emory I bought the blue brush. It's make by Kong and they also make toys. The brush really did well but because she is a long haired Chihuahua I found a Martha Stewart comb to loosen matted hair. To the comb at the bottom left I use on her every single morning. Sometimes I get a lot of hair and sometimes just a little. One side has wider tooth and I use that first then flip it over and do the finer tooth. When I layer in the crook of my arm and do her belly she usually falls asleep. She begs to be combed...lol.

The fine comb is also for ticks.

Buy you have your hands full. I'm surprised evert day I comb Emory in the morning and always get some hair. But I mostly do it because she likes it. Especially when I do her belly.
I like your rake, looks like it would do a great job.

It works great on knots.. you just to slow and it takes them right out. I should comb Archie and Millie every day but rarely have the time to. Based on the cat/dog tumbleweeds I have I could make a 'Dat'

Just combing Archie once would be like combing Emory for six months. Our first dog was a malamute and I was always combing her. Her hind quarters had so much hair it was a never ending job. Some of the new combs are so much better than the old ones. The Blue Kong Brush really pulls out the loose hair. Wish I would have had that years ago.
