Had a surprise today. Since we aren't feeding birds this year and that's where the turkeys show up under the feeder, we had 7 turkeys pass through. We see them all the time but it's been a while since they were in the backyard.

Aw these are all wild and live here on the hill with all the houses. No chance of them being killed. One guy about a 1/2 mile from here feeds them so you see them in his area a lot.

My niece and her kids were here yesterday and saw Emory in person for the first time. Emory is shy at first and even barked at them at first. She slowly warmed up to them before they left.

For them it will take awhile because she won't remember them. But for a neighbor she sees a lot she remembers them. One thing she does like Sammy our last dog is she looks at each house to see if there is any movement. If there is she wants to watch. Dives you crazy when it's raining. That's another difference between Emory and Sammy, it it was raining Sammy wanted no part of going outside and Emory couldn't seem to care if it's raining or snowing. Neither liked when it was windy. Those scary leaves blow around.

It sure is. They are alike yet so different.
The gal that cleans house her on Thursday brought us salsa she makes and jam she also makes and for Emory she got some new treats. They are called Buddy Biscuits and they are made in the USA. I think all the food and treats she buys are from the USA. No more China scares for her dog food.

That's true I think. Actually you can sometimes tell when people are pet owners just by how they react to your pet. When Sammy was with us my wife sister stayed with us for months and pet Sammy briefly one time. And Sammy was super friendly to people. They have had pets but ended up getting rid of all of them. They just aren't pet people.

I think I would be a good pet owner, but under the circumstances, I'm not able to take care of one in a decent way and that would be very unfair to the pet.

It is unfair to a pet. That happened with our first dog with us working all the time. Plus she was a dog the needed lots of exercise and working we just couldn't do it. Now we have the time but have a dog that can get by with a lot less walking. But for several years we had fish and I enjoyed watching them. Very peaceful to watch them...except when I got the piranha. Made cleaning the tank interesting. Now they have a small tank with a hood and filter all built into the unit. This house has a lot of glass so not sure where I could put it. Algae would grow fast in it.
But Emory likes her new Buddy Biscuits so all is well here.
