Teen dies after dropping smartphone into bath

The 19-year-old, named only by his first name Aleksandr, had been taking the bath at his home when the phone slipped out of his hands and fell into the water.

His corpse was later found by his brother who became concerned about the amount of time the tragic teen was spending in the bathroom.

At first he tried knocking on the door.

But after getting no answer, he broke it down.

Inside he found his naked brother lying in the bath with a huge burn mark across his stomach.

The mobile phone was floating next to him.

The body was taken to a local morgue in the village of Zapoliarny, Russia, where an autopsy revealed the cause of death was electrocution.

Stunned locals in the small community have now taken to the internet to express their horror and disbelief about the death of someone they described as being "kind and gentle."

But others have been more sceptical.

"But perhaps this charger or accumulator was very powerful.
