According to the Norwegian aid magazine Bistandsaktuelt, the world has experienced a significant progress over the last decades. The details are as follows:
90% of the population has now access to clean drinking water.
During the last 25 years, the number of malnutreated people has decreased from 19% to 11% and the number of mothers dying in childbirth been reduced by 45%.
1.9 billion people were extremely poor in 1990. Now, the number is less than 10%.
In 1989, only 69 countries were rated as democracies, while we have 125 nations evaluated according to the same standards in 2016.
