Researchers at Salk Institute in the US have meassured the brain's storage capacity and conclude that ut can store 1 petabyte or 1,000,000,000,000,000 bytes of information. This is equivalent to 20 million filing cabinets. According to Daily Mail, 50 petabytes include everything that humanity has ever written! Earlier, one has thought that the brain's capacity was only 0.1 petabyte. -This is like a bombshell in brain research, says professor Terry Sejnowski and adds that it may help science build even more efficient computers.
