What OS do you have

Windows 7 here, too. My co-admin Cthulhu replaced my old XP before he went on leave. He is a true genius with technical solutions, but needs to prioritise personal matters for a while. We talk on the phone every now and then; and I update the members in an Admin's Corner thread, but by now, very few rememeber him, I'm afraid.

This is the third PC that he has set up for me. He has also been a good friend for many years. He used to live close by with his family, but god divorced and moved to another city. Now, he lives even further away in a remote valley with his new wife and a baby boy, so I don't see him much anymore. Over the short while he was active, he helped me set up this forum and was a great support until our mutual friend Rousseau'sProgeny brought in her formidable arsenal of creative ideas and intelligent suggestions. Let's just say that without them, this site would have been in a primitive state. Then, Gator appeared on the scene and upgraded the forum to a higher level. I still consult Cthulhu on PC issues on and off, but his online connection is so bad that it is a contributing factor to why he is absent, along with family, work and other important things in his life right now.

I remember Cthulhu telling me that 8 was a bad version, so he adviced me to wait for the next generation, whatever it's called, in case I need to change again anytime soon, which I hope won't be necessary.

Why am I not surprised? Everybody seems to want my last penny...

I upgraded from Windows 7 to 10 the other week. The process went flawlessly, but I'm not extremely impressed by the result, as some functions seem to have become less user-friendly with the newer version.

So was I until it crashed completely, so I had no choice but to upgrade. Luckily, the otherwise unavailable Cthulhu came to my rescue when I needed him most, during a critical build-up phase on this forum, so he installed Windows 7 on my PC. Then, it started to send me pop-up messages about upgrading to 10 and I thought that it would be better to do it on my on terms than having to rush into it sometime in the future when 7 will become outdated. I'm not all that happy with 10, but I don't really have any good reason to complain too much, either.
