Tix Mascot , Joey , LadyPorthos , well done for correctly guessing the answer to this week's quiz question. You were asked: True or False? Palaeontologists have been able to determine the colouration of some dinosaurs by studying fossilized pigment cells.Answer: True. Researchers have used scanning electron microscope techniques to analyze fossilized pigment cells and compare their arrangement to those of modern birds. This has allowed them to determine the colouration of at least two dino species, Microraptor and Sinosauropteryx. In Microraptor, the pigment cells are narrow, rod-shaped and arranged in stacked layers, indicating an iridescent black colouring. In Sinosauropteryx, there's an alternation of light and dark bands on the tail. Spherical pigment cells indicate that the dark feathers were either red, brown or possibly orange.

New quiz question: How did dinosaur reproduce?
They laid eggs, wich indicate a mating session before the 'pregnancy'.
