I couldn't agree more, Marti. I left one forum after the other when I experienced how people were (mis)treated there. Rousseau'sProgeny has also seen it happen and that's why we do our utmost to ensure that the users of this site have a safe arena to express their thoughts and opinions. i think we all try to do that on our forums I know I do. |

Cyber bullying is one thing, but when the bullies find out where their victims live and start stalking them in real life, it's really getting bad.

I've heard of that happening. So 95% of the people I talk to live out of state or the country.

It happened to me and I no longer put up with that nonsense. I took it to court and ProBoards was cooperative.
Then there is the more subtle type of harassment, which goes unchecked by moderators. And if you dare to call it out, you are punished. Amazing.

Um that just isn't true.
You can attack the establishment republican or democrat, your bartender, your hair stylist, the guy take walks his dog that poops in your yard, your neighbors or anyone else but you can't attack members. You can disagree with any post including this one. I don't care. You don't attack members, the end.

I agree Joey, ! I've know a lot of Cyber bullies over the years. Hiding behind a fake name, life and identity online makes them feel brave and tough. I've even know a few that made actual threats to members family and home. They usually pick on members that are going through problems or are shy or sick. Real brave. |

Years ago there were The Yahoo news stories and you could discuss any story and if you ever talked on them it was unbelievable. There might be one post about the story the rest was just people attacking each other. They finally shut it down. But I did make a few friends that are still friends 12 years later.

We have a member here who won't post anymore that was the victim of physical threats to her and her family.. by one such bully.
