cyberbullies target individuals. Rather than post generally inflammatory statements, they post vicious things about a single person with a goal of shaming or intimidation. This could take the form of mean-spirited messages, private pictures or private video concerning the individual the bully is targeting. They could post the information publicly, or send it only to their target as a form of taunting. They tend to do a lot of mischief behind the scenes as well, spreading lies and trying to poison the minds of people against one person. Such a lot of negative energy, I really don't get it.

But you have probably met good people along the way who have said good things about you to others, people who have been there for you and would or have stuck up for you before. There’s positive energy in that.

I remember a scheemer on Wireclub creating a lot of drama, ultimately faking her own death! Truckloads of tears were shed and condolences delivered before it became clear that it was just the second profile of a member that had fooled us the entire time. I don't know what this person wanted to achieve, drama, attention, perhaps, but he or she must possibly have been mentally unstable to invest so much effort into building up a fake identity over almost a year before ending it all with such a dramatic climax. Beats me...

Beats me... What? WOW that is crazy! Sad to say I have heard of something similar on the MSN Message boards years ago, faking cancer. All for attention, how sick is that?

The good outweighs the bad, always. That’s very true. It is better to focus on the good and decent people you may have met online. Don't let a few oddballs ruin the experience for you. Right!? smiley-signs004

And of course, when or if you meet someone with the initials of j.c., you figure they have to be totally awesome anyway. Those are the best two letters in the alphabet.

Online, we meet all kinds of oddballs that seem to thrive on either harassing or fooling people big time. Here, they have a perfect arena to display their weird passions.

I couldn't agree more, Marti. I left one forum after the other when I experienced how people were (mis)treated there. Rousseau'sProgeny has also seen it happen and that's why we do our utmost to ensure that the users of this site have a safe arena to express their thoughts and opinions.
