I know a little about spiders because living in a wooded area there seems to be millions of them. So I knwe they weren't insects. I use to have one that built a web every night by my ward light. Also several years ago I got bite by a Brown Recluse. Just a small bite on the leg...actually 3 but only one was big and turned the skin black. The same week it happened to me it happened to one of our friends that were in St Louis visiting family and she got several bites right by her eye. I saw pictures and it looked like she was attacked with a baseball bat. She spent several days in the hospital.
