He is there to teach History, he should be fired! Teacher caught ranting: Military members are ‘lowest of low, dumb sh*ts, pimps’A series of videos has been posted to Facebook in which a history and social studies teacher at El Rancho High School in Pico Rivera, California, can be heard completely disrespecting and trashing the U.S. military and the men and women who serve the country – all because one of his students was wearing a Marines sweatshirt in class. The videos, taken on Jan. 19 by a student using a cell phone, have gone viral, with one being viewed more than 5.6 million times. “We’ve got a bunch of dumb shits over there. They’re not high-level thinkers. They’re not academic people. They’re not intellectual people. They’re the lowest of the low. They’re not talented people,” the teacher, who is said to be Gregory Salcido – can be heard saying in one of the videos, assumably referring to the men and women deployed overseas around the world. In the videos, the male teacher goes on a rant for several minutes. He says he doesn’t know how anyone ends up joining the military. “It’s because you have no other options,” the teacher says. While constantly berating the military and those who serve, the teacher also asks why anyone would “wear something you can’t even support.” “Don’t you ever bring the military into this again,” he says. “We don’t let pimps into school. Is anyone interested in being a hoe? … They’re going to lie to you.” American Military News spoke to the student’s mother, who asked that her child not be named, lest they face repercussion at school. His mother’s friend, Kimberlie Flauto, posted the videos to Facebook asking the community to help them go viral. link |

I agree he should be fired. Haven't seen the video but from what you posted he shouldn't be teaching.
1st amendment rights doesn't give him the right to berate the kid wearing the sweatshirt. Who knows he may have a father, mother, brother or sister in the military. So he belittles the kids family possibly in class. Hope I next here he was fired.
My niece will he a History teacher one day. I really can't picture her saying this. A lot of or most of our presidents have been in the military. And he is teaching the history of there people?

Totally agree.. You don't have to love the military but for a History Teacher or teacher of any class should NOT use that language or berate the Military.

Completely agreed. That teacher was totally out of line, not to mention setting a terrible example for the students he was teaching. He should definitely be fired.

If the system works as it should, he would immediately be suspended. Then, he is probably given a second chance to improve his act, while the school board and pupils hope that he has learned his lesson. If not, it's o3.

My cousin's daughter joined the Air Force and now her son (his grandson) has joined. The son/grandson is a pretty smart kid from what I've heard. So the teacher is belittling him too. I've had some poor history teachers but none compare to this guy. He's in a class of his own.
