Never have we had a president represent us this way. News anchors and others on TV today would not even repeat one of the words this man said. www.washingtonpost.com/politics/trump-attacks-protections-for-immigrants-from-shithole-countries-in-oval-office-meeting/2018/01/11/bfc0725c-f711-11e7-91af-31ac729add94_story.html?utm_term=.014503d75e58Trump derides protections for immigrants from ‘shithole’ countries "President Trump grew frustrated with lawmakers Thursday in the Oval Office when they discussed protecting immigrants from Haiti, El Salvador and African countries as part of a bipartisan immigration deal, according to several people briefed on the meeting. “Why are we having all these people from shithole countries come here?” Trump said, according to these people, referring to countries mentioned by the lawmakers. Trump then suggested that the United States should instead bring more people from countries such as Norway, whose prime minister he met with Wednesday. The president, according to a White House official, also suggested he would be open to more immigrants from Asian countries because he felt they help the United States economically. In addition, the president singled out Haiti, telling lawmakers that immigrants from that country must be left out of any deal, these people said. “Why do we need more Haitians?” Trump said, according to people familiar with the meeting. “Take them out.”. I would take anyone from Haiti and send Trump back to the land of his mother...Scotland....or any country that would accept him. Russia perhaps ? Or Norway as he pointed out as a preferred country. Preferred by him.

Can't believe he didn't mention Pocahontas while he was at it. But I guess he didn't because she was here before all the Sh*t H*le countries invaded and took it over.

Never have we had a president represent us this way. Oh? Really? Hmm.. guess I have a better memory than some. Barack ObamaPresident Barack Obama, during the 2012 campaign, famously referred to his Republican opponent Mitt Romney as a “bulls**tter,” and that's not all. He was quite blunt in his response to the BP oil spill in 2010 as well: “I don't sit around just talking to experts because this is a college seminar. We talk to these folks because they potentially have the best answers, so I know whose a** to kick.” George W. BushIn 2000, then-candidate George W. Bush delivered a hot-mic moment that took aim at New York Times reporter Adam Clymer. While campaigning for president in 2000, George W. Bush leaned over to his running mate, Dick Cheney, as they waited at the podium for a rally to begin and commented on the presence of New York Times reporter Adam Clymer. Believing he had an audience of one, Bush called Clymer a “major-league a**hole.” [Vice President Joe Biden dropping an f-bomb:John F. KennedyNaval hero-turned-President John F. Kennedy took the notion of “swearing like a sailor” quite literally, at least behind closed doors. Rolling Stone reported: Eloquent at the podium, JFK could swear like a sailor (which he was, of course) away from the microphone. When word leaked that the Air Force had spent $5000 to furnish a maternity suite for Jackie Kennedy at Otis Air Force Base, the president knew the expenditure would be used as a political football. “This is obviously a f**k-up,” he fumed to a hapless general over the phone. Lyndon B. JohnsonPaul F. Boller wrote in his book, “Presidential Anecdotes,” that Lyndon B. Johnson was one of the most colorful men to occupy the Oval Office. LBJ was probably the earthiest man ever to occupy the White House. Asked, while he was Senate Majority Leader, why he didn’t take one of Vice President Nixon’s speeches more seriously, he exclaimed, “Boys, I may not know much, but I know the difference between chicken s**t and chicken salad.” Of a Kennedy aide he once said: “He doesn’t have sense enough to pour piss out of a boot with the instructions written on the heel.” From CNN:Cheney told Sen. Patrick Leahy on June 24, 2004, to “go f**k yourself” when the Vermont Democrat blasted Halliburton's role in Iraq. Halliburton, as you may recall, was once under the helm of Cheney, who was chairman and CEO of the company.

I think the difference it's at every turn and every tweet he starts the name calling and belittling people. Not just anyone that disagrees with him but just about all other countries. He's a bully and in my opinion a jerk.
What is wrong with this guy? He lies, remember the campaign and how we were going to build a wall that Mexico would pay for. People were gobbling this up like a Thanksgiving turkey. Now they are trying to sort out DACA and the wall has to be included in the bill for him to sign it. Also remember he repeated "Wall not fence" repeatedly so lets see what happens with this lie.
The guy is a bully and doesn't like to be bullied back.
He says he didn't even make the statement (another lie) of Shit hole countries. So who do you believe him the repeated lier or all the democrat and republicans that heard it and were discussed by it. I see most of his bully tweets and it just makes you shake your head and wonder what is wrong with this guy besides being a racist like his dad was.

@justbec...
Of all the examples you gave, you did not give one example of a president making a clearly racist statement.
Even worse, Trump did it in 2018...not 1818 or even 1918.

It wasn't racist, IF he said it, it was rude, nothing more. And so far the only person talking is Durbin, who has already began to back track. In a room full of people no on but Durbin heard this comment? No one got it on video? I find that very odd.

according to several people briefed on the meeting. according to these people, according to people familiar with the meeting Not one name, not one direct quote other than Durbin who is well known for not liking Trump. Do I deny President Trump said it? No not really, but I do question the context in which he said it. The press and the Democrats are well known for leaving out a word here and there when quoting the President to make him look bad.

In a room full of people no on but Durbin heard this comment? No one got it on video? I find that very odd. My understanding is others said they did not hear it...not that he did not say it. Trump himself tested the waters that night. Then he said he used "tough language". I do not think he has denied it. Most people agree it was indeed racist...a word I myself use very very rarely. 'There's no other word but racist': Trump's global rebuke for 'shithole' remark "Donald Trump has been branded a shocking and shameful racist after it was credibly reported he had described African nations, as well as Haiti and El Salvador as “shitholes” and questioned why so many of their citizens had ever been permitted to enter America. US diplomats around the world were summoned for formal reproach, amid global shock that such crude remarks could ever be made in a semi-public meeting by the president of America. In a strongly-worded statement, the UN said it was impossible to describe his remarks as anything other than racist, while the Vatican decried Trump’s words as “particularly harsh and offensive”. The 55-nation African Union said the remarks were “clearly racist”. That is the UN and the and the African Union declaring the statement was clearly racist. www.theguardian.com/us-news/2018/jan/12/unkind-divisive-elitist-international-outcry-over-trumps-shithole-countries-remark

My understanding is others said they did not hear it...not that he did not say it. [ So it is Durbin's word against The President's word.. And of course the Press, Democrats and Liberals don't even think or blink they just immediately take Durbin's word as gospel.. And if Trump was speaking in the Oval office how did no one hear this but Durbin? Sorry but to quote another President, it's Bullsh*t.. just another witch hunt by Democrats and the Press.

There are 2 points here. 1 - Did Trump make the remark? "But two Republicans present said they could not remember those comments. Senators Tom Cotton and David Perdue, of Arkansas and Georgia, said they heard the president "call out" what they described as "the imbalance in our current immigration system" First they said they did not hear the remark. Now they are saying they do not remember the comments. All in the oval office you said how could they not her the comments. What nobody has said is that Trump did not make the comments. Nobody...except Trump. 2 - Are the remarks racist? Besides what I have already posted, if you think it is a witch hunt, then you must think they are racist.

No I do not think they are racist.. that is a word I use very sparingly and not without proof and good reason. What I think is they are under orders from Pelosi and her goons to do whatever it takes to get Trump. And please semantics, really? They don't remember the comments or didn't hear the comments... if you didn't hear them then odds are pretty good you wouldn't remember them.

Denounced the President’s Comments
Some lawmakers specifically criticized the president, while others countered the sentiment of his remarks.
Senator Roy Blunt Mo. “It’s clearly an unacceptable thing to say. You can’t determine what somebody is thinking or why they say what they say, but it’s an unacceptable view of the world and it’s an unacceptable thing to say.” »
Senator John Boozman Ark. “Our country is made of immigrants. This diversity is what makes our country great and something all citizens should be proud of. No matter where people come from, they all deserve dignity and respect.”
Senator Susan Collins Maine “These comments are highly inappropriate and out of bounds and could hurt efforts for a bipartisan immigration agreement. The president should not denigrate other countries.” »
Senator Jeff Flake Ariz. “The words used by the president, as related to me directly following the meeting by those in attendance, were not ‘tough,’ they were abhorrent and repulsive.” »
Senator Lindsey Graham S.C. AT THE MEETING “Following comments by the president, I said my piece directly to him yesterday. The president and all those attending the meeting know what I said and how I feel. I’ve always believed that America is an idea, not defined by its people but by its ideals.” »
Senator Charles E. Grassley Iowa “I think it detracts from the very important issue we got to get solved by March the 5th," the deadline for Congress to find a fix for the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, or DACA, which Mr. Trump is ending. "Bottom line, all people ought to be treated with respect.” »
Senator Orrin G. Hatch Utah “I look forward to getting a more detailed explanation regarding the president’s comments. Part of what makes America so special is that we welcome the best and brightest in the world, regardless of their country of origin.” »
Senator Johnny Isakson Ga. “I did not hear it, but if it’s true, he owes the people of Haiti and all mankind an apology. That is not the kind of statement the leader of the free world ought to make, and he ought to be ashamed of himself. If he did not make it, he needs to corroborate the fact and prove it and then move forward.” »
Senator Ron Johnson Wis. “Totally inappropriate and he should apologize. When you enter the public realm, I don’t care what your past was, I don’t know what kind of salty language you might have used, you stop doing it. You have a certain responsibility, a certain decorum that you need to conduct yourself in public with. You have children watching. You have nations watching.” »
Senator James Lankford Okla. “If these comments are accurate, they are disappointing. I would not talk about nations like this, because the people of those countries are made in the image of God and have worth and human dignity. The United States should lead the world in respect for all people.”
Senator Mike Lee Utah “The comments attributed to the president are insulting and distracting.”
Senator John McCain Ariz. “People have come to this country from everywhere, and people from everywhere have made America great. Our immigration policy should reflect that truth, and our elected officials, including our president, should respect it.” »
Senator Lisa Murkowski Alaska “What the president said is offensive and doesn’t reflect who we are as a country. It is particularly offensive just days ahead of our recognition of Dr. Martin Luther King. I am disappointed and suggest we move quickly to resolve the status of the Dreamers in a way that truly reflects our values.” »
Senator Rob Portman Ohio “I wasn’t there, but if he said those things, it’s wrong and indefensible.”
Senator Pat Roberts Kan. “Allegedly it’s an off-hand remark, but even that, it’s most unfortunate. I try to stick to my business, committees, and get us a good farm bill. I’ve worked with the president. He’s been very personable. That kind of language wasn’t used. So I regret it.” »
Senator Marco Rubio Fla. “We should evaluate immigrants based on who they are and not on the problems that exist in the nation of their birth. For example, for decades the people of El Salvador and Haiti have suffered as a result of bad leaders, rampant crime and natural disasters.” »
Senator Tim Scott S.C. “If these comments are the president’s words, they are disappointing to say the least. The American family was born from immigrants fleeing persecution and poverty and searching for a better future. Our strength lies in our diversity, including those who came here from Africa, the Caribbean and every other corner of the world.”
Senator Patrick J. Toomey Pa. “I hope the president retracts the suggestion, attributed to him yesterday, that America should not want immigrants from countries which he was accused of describing disparagingly. There are great people — many of whom would make great Americans — in every country on the face of the earth.”
House Speaker Paul D. Ryan Wis. “So, first thing that came to my mind was very unfortunate, unhelpful.”
