Good. They should be doing this — now. "The Post’s Paul Kane reports this morning that despite their rhetoric downplaying this possibility, House Democrats are privately preparing for a possible effort to impeach President Trump, should they regain the majority. That’s excellent news. This is exactly what Democrats should be doing — right now. Not just because an impeachment battle might actually happen, but also for another reason: Democrats will need to find a more effective way to talk to the American people about the serial degradation of our democracy we are seeing in the Trump era, for the good of the party, yes, but also for the good of the country. We can surmise that Democrats are preparing for impeachment because they chose Rep. Jerrold Nadler (N.Y.) as the ranking Democrat on the House Judiciary Committee — and Nadler is an expert in constitutional law. As Kane reports, this is the “clearest sign yet of how seriously House Democrats consider the possibility of a full-blown constitutional showdown” with Trump, one that could “end with impeachment proceedings.” Or, as Rep. Gerald E. Connolly (D-Va.), put it, Nadler won the slot because of the “constitutional argument” and because of the need for Democrats to “prepare for the coming storm.”.

Sadly they know it won't happen. So why waist the time and money? It was the same with Clinton. Why did the republicans waste all the time and money to do nothing. He finished his term, and in my opinion was one of the best president I can remember...and I'm very old.

It is a waste of time and tax payer's money.. which no one seems to scream about. At some point Congress needs to just admit he is the President and start working with him rather than fighting him at every step. If they actually care about the people they represent then start working to change things instead of throwing childish tantrums every week.

I don't see him being impeached but if they are working for the people back home most of those people didn't vote for him. Last I heard he had the lowest approval rating after the tax bill was passed than any president since Eisenhower. So why would they work with him? Maybe to increase the national debt even more? The senate might make a turn soon. But trump is losing support from the middle class that he said he would help...he didn't do it yet.

The senate might make a turn soon. But trump is losing support from the middle class that he said he would help...he didn't do it yet. Obama doubled the National Debt in 8 years of his term.. no one said a word. Why work with him? Because he is the President whether they like it or not. And as Nancy Pelosi admitted they have a standing order to vote no on every bill he puts forward, regardless of if they agree or not. They will still vote no because they are acting like children that didn't get their way. I won't get into this because I hate politics but 86% of middle class are not getting their taxes raised, they are getting them lowered and in 5 years they will lose that cut. Not because of Trump but because of a law put in place by Congress. But the Democrats don't want you to know that, they spin it as he is raising your taxes. IF and it's a big IF, Congress (Democrats and Republicans) cared about anything but their own agendas they would roll up their sleeves and WORK to get things done, despite their feelings for the President. Instead they hold their breath, stamp their feet and refuse to do anything. Some days I wonder how anything ever gets done in Congress. Oh wait.. nothing does.

Obama inherited a war he didn't start so not surprising the deficit went up. trump cuts taxes to the riches and the deficit will go up 1 1/2 TRILLION. So guess the only way to build the Wall (not fence) is to add on even more. Surprise Mexico won't be paying for it...that is what he preached. I haven't seen anything to vote yes on yet. I wouldn't need instructions. In five years your taxes will go up cooperations wont. The Christmas present was to the super rich no doubt about that and peanuts for the rest.
The tax plan was done behind closed doors by republicans. That isn't rolling up your sleeves and working together. Then they had to make last minute changes just to get the republicans to vote for it. That isn't working together. I would have voted against it as most Americans would have.

I wouldn't have but that is me. I learned a long time ago one can not change the opinion of others when it comes to Politics and Religion. So I'm not going to try.

Well I pretty much go both ways depending on the subject. Guess I'm a tweener. So never far left or far right. I just think the democrats are wasting there time (and money) on impeachment right now.

I'm completely on-board for impeachment with Andie. Trump has made countless dirty business dealings, is a sexual predator, lies all the time, and sometimes sounds like he has early Alzheimers.
Did anyone see how the Republicans pandered to him yesterday. It was like a comedy skit. We are becoming little more than a banana republic under this sociopath.

I noticed it but I noticed it when they did the same to Obama. And all the dirty deals were between republicans and I doubt trump could actually tell you what is even in the tax bill.
Time will tell if he has dementia. It works fast, Just look back at Reagan. But impeachment right now is a total waste of time and money. Just like when the republicans tried it with Clinton, waste of time and money. I complained about it then and I'm complaining about it now.

But impeachment right now is a total waste of time and money. What I find funny is that impeaching Trump would put Pence in the Presidency and he has the same goals.. So what do the Dems accomplish? Actually I have a friend that works on V.P Pence's secret service detail.. She and he just went to Afghanistan on a surprise visit to the troops. I asked her to hug a few and give them my thanks.

That is true we would just have Pence in his place and not much would change. Actually I would rather see Rex take his place but that isn't how it works.

Rex looks like an abandoned puppy these days. He will probably leave after the New Year. As for impeachment...there is every sign the Democrats will win back the House and maybe he Senate. Mueller's team has been told they are working thru 2018. That adds up to impeachment articles to me. And now that Trump has signed the tax bill, the GOP does not need him anymore.
