A few hours ago, Lys suggested that I bought a bottle of rose/cinnamon squash/sirup at an Asian food market. The ingredient list is printed in so fine letters that I was unable to read it in the shop. When I came home, I helt the label directly under a spotlight and discovered that it contains aspartame, a substance that I avoid rigidly, so unless we find somebody to give that bottle to, it will be disposed of...

Aspartame is an artificial sweetener that contains unhealthy substances. Some countries' authorities try to convince us that it's less dangerous than sugar, but I don't buy that propaganda. Highwayman (our inactive co-member on this forum) is a several times over world champion in a demanding sport. His nutritionist explained to him how aspartame is produced and it scared the living daylights out of us both. While sugar is harmful enough, I prefer that to artificial sweeteners. A glass-topped zebra head pedestal-type side table. I love it, but have no space to put it anywhere, so it will probably wind up in storage with the rest of my furniture.
