Name: AjnabiaPronunciation: Aj-nah-be-ahMeaning of name: "Stranger" or "Foreigner"Species: A. odysseusSize: Unknown due to a lack of fossils.Family: Lambeosaurinae (a sub-family of Hadrosauridae)Diet: Herbivore.First fossils found: Known only from fragmentary fossils including teeth and partial jaws discovered in the Ouled Abdoun Basin of Morocco, North Africa, in 2020. Named in the same year by Nicholas R. Longrich, Xabier Pereda Suberbiola, R. Alexander Pyron and Nour-Eddine Jalil. Whilst its relatives lived in the United States, Europe, Asia and South America, Ajnabia is the first Hadrosaur to be discovered in Africa. However, palaeontologists still aren't sure how this Hadrosaur reached Africa. The only theories are that it either swam across from Europe or there were temporary land bridges, allowing for dinosaurs to spread into new territories.Lived: 72.1 to 66 million years ago during the Maastrichtian stage of the Late Cretaceous in what is now North Africa. I wonder why we only find teeth and jaw fragments from some species, Becsuse they are stronger than the rest of the skeleton and thus survive longer, perhaps?

Do we know approximately how much food they consumed on a daily basis? It's thought that some may have eaten up to 1000kgs (one metric tonne) of vegetation every day. That's ten times as much as what elephants eat in one day. Imagine if we had to eat that much food every day.

It would walk right over you to get to the vegetation. Probably wouldn't even see you.
