Now that I'm finally back online, it's time to reveal the answer to this week's quiz question. You were asked: How many teeth did Triceratops have? 200, 400, 600, 800 or 1000?Answer: 800. Triceratops had roughly 800 teeth arranged in "batteries" of between 36 and 40 tooth columns. Each column had between three and five teeth vertically stacked on top of each other. As old teeth wore down and fell out, new teeth grew to replace them.Wow - I'm really impressed!

Dinos were lucky they didn't have to worry about dental health. Their teeth grew constantly throughout their lives, and if they lost a tooth, there was always a new one ready to replace it. Unfortunately, humans have to make sure they take good care of their teeth. If we lose our teeth, we don't get new ones.

Just a friendly reminder about this week's quiz question. You've been asked: How did Triceratops grow its brow horns? From their bases or from their tips?Today's dino: Name: BellusaurusPronunciation: Bel-lu-sore-usMeaning of name: "Beautiful lizard"Species: B. suiSize: Full adult size uncertain as the only known fossils are thought to belong to juveniles.Family: MamenchisauridaeDiet: HerbivoreFirst fossils found: Known from at least seventeen partial skeletons discovered in the Shishugou Formation of northwestern China. Named by Chinese palaeontologist, Dong Zhiming, in 1990. A lack of fusion in some of the bones suggests these animals were juveniles that may have been killed in a flash flood. It's also led to speculation that Bellusaurus may actually be the juvenile form of Klamelisaurus.Lived: 170 million years ago during the Bajocian stage of the Middle Jurassic in what is now northwestern China.

Some of them could use their tails as weapon, but this one seems most scary using its head as a club.
